Launching Minerva Institute’s Weekly Case Study Series on AI, Autonomy, and Critical Infrastructure

Today, Minerva Institute is pleased to launch a new weekly case study series exploring the evolving role of artificial intelligence and autonomous systems in industrial control systems and critical infrastructure.

Over the coming weeks, we will publish one case study at a time, drawing from Minerva’s broader research and analysis to examine how AI-enabled capabilities are being applied across complex operational environments.

Each case study will highlight practical opportunities, emerging risks, governance considerations, and lessons for leaders responsible for resilience, security, and responsible innovation.

Our goal is to make this work accessible and actionable for policymakers, operators, technologists, researchers, and security professionals who are navigating the intersection of AI, autonomy, and infrastructure protection.

The first case study in the series, AI-Driven Outage Prediction and Restoration at  IOU’s is now available below.

We look forward to sharing this series over the coming months and contributing to a deeper conversation about how AI and autonomous systems can be deployed safely, securely, and effectively in the systems that society depends on.
